The Line Between Man and Machine is Blurring: AI Advances You Should Know About

A new era in humanity is coming fast. Are you, and your company, ready for this?

Hey! It’s Jeremy.

I apologize that it’s been a minute since I’ve been in your inbox. Lots of new irons in the fire and I’m excited to let you know about some things that are coming soon. But for this week…

I wanted to “Zoom Out” and look at what’s happening with the AI revolution. Is it really just hype? After all, it has died down a bit. Does it really matter?

How is it actually going to change things?

Great question.

Here are three major developments in AI that I’ve been watching to see how it changes business - and the world - as we currently know it.

This week’s newsletter is brought to you by one of the largest AI-driven newsletter in the world - The Rundown AI.

Get the rundown on the latest developments in AI before everyone else. Join 250,000+ daily readers from Microsoft, Tesla, Nasa, Meta and more.

▶️ Neuralink opening the “River” of Data

Elon’s company, Neuralink, shocked the world with a demo of this monkey (named “Pager”) playing Pong, using his brain as a computer.

Neuralink announced this week that they’ve raised another $280 million in a series D funding round, to further develop their brain chip implant.

If you were not already aware of Neuralink, that previous sentence probably sounds like a Sci-Fi TV show. It’s not, it’s real.

Their goal is to “develop high bandwidth brain-machine interfaces to connect humans and machines” and they’re not far off.

Neuralink already received FDA approval for human trials back in May of this year (source).

Many of us are probably a little wary to implant any kind of AI chip into our body, but make no mistake; agree or disagree, it will most likely be the norm.

It’s going to reshape humanity, and how we do business online. How? Personally, I think Musk illustrated it perfectly (this is paraphrased):

“Most humans are already cyborgs, compared to humans 100 years ago. The smartphone gives us access to all the data in the world. The only problem is, we have to use our thumbs as output, to get the data input. We’re limited by our thumbs. It’s like drinking through a straw. We need to make that tiny straw like a giant river… a huge, high-bandwidth interface directly with our brain.“

This will revolutionize the way we interact with technology, through AI.

▶️ Wearable AI Technology

Apple’s Vision Pro releases this coming March (left). Humane’s Wearable AI Projector begins taking orders “Later this year” (right).

Virtual Reality has been around for a while now. Most people would consider that to be a “fake” reality. Augmented reality is a bit newer, and brings that virtual “stuff” closer to reality by projecting things into our world.

So what happens when humans have devices that can do both, engaging all of the human senses via the devices? The answer is, it’s no longer “fake”.

Let me give you a real world example …

Right now I have four monitors on my home desk as a working setup. My laptop, 2 Viotek 24” monitors and a 42” Vizio TV on the wall behind them. Total cost, probably somewhere near $1,000 for the monitors and $2,000 for the Macbook.

Apple’s Vision pro will replace all of the monitors and work with my laptop so that I won’t really have to ever touch it again, if I don’t want to. And I can change my monitors from 24” to 124” with a swipe. I will no longer need physical screens.

“Virtual / Augmented” Reality will change my physical reality.

With wearable AI technology, get ready for much more of that.

It’s difficult to process how much this can change our world (watch NFL games on your coffee table, theater experiences in your living room, shopping, commerce, work from home, schooling, church, travel, relationships, they all will be affected) - but that’s not helpful to live there long.

What we need to be considering now, is the BUSINESS impact of wearable tech.

How can people experience your company in a virtual/augmented way? Please don’t say “they can’t” cause you’ll just lose the game without even stepping on the field.

How can you use this tech to differentiate your brand or service? What type of content will be relevant in this new AR/VR world? What problems can you solve for people either inside, or at least using, these coming realities?

Food for thought.

▶️ Web 3.0 & The Coming Metaverse

I’ll be honest, I’m nervous to even put this section in. 😂

This is where it gets “weird” and some of you will write me off in the next few paragraphs. I’m going to risk it. Because I genuinely believe this is coming, and if we get ahead of it, our businesses will thrive.

Business Events in the Metaverse.

Chances are you’ve heard the term “metaverse” by now. If you haven’t, then the metaverse is a meeting of the internet and the universe.

I saw it explained somewhere, which I like, as “the place you’d be if you could climb into the internet.”

Let’s entertain the idea that neural connected AI tech like Neuralink becomes available. And wearable technology like Vision Pro becomes available. What’s the logical next step?

A new universe to experience … the Metaverse.

It’s a new kind of internet. Web 3.0 isn’t just about cryptocurrency, NFTs and blockchain; it’s about a brand new digital experience.

AI will absolutely power the metaverse. T

hink about the data (intelligence) flowing through the internet everyday. The metaverse will 10x that when life, education, work and play are all happening in one spot, online.

AI will power everything from avatars to the actual worlds themselves.

Businesses will developer their own AI that learns from their customers (again, across all facets of their online life) and use that data to customize their products / services uniquely in a way we haven’t been able to before.

By the way, the probability of this coming is sort of evidenced by the entities creating the tech for it:

  • Elon is making Neuralink. He has a few resources.

  • Apple is making Vision Pro. They have some resources, not to mention a cult following.

  • Facebook literally rebranded their company, one of the most recognizable brands on the planet … to what? Meta.

Do you think those businesses will be represented in the Metaverse? Of course, that’s why they’re building it. The question is, will yours?

So there you go. Call me crazy. Tell me it’s dystopian and bad for humanity. It doesn’t matter. Here’s the bottom line … It’s coming, folks.

✅ How I Can Help.

Whenever you’re ready, here are 3 ways for us to work together:

  1. Promote your business to 300+ business leaders and entrepreneurs by sponsoring this newsletter.

  2. Schedule a 1:1 coaching call with me on AI integration into your business.

  3. Apply to work with me here.

This week’s newsletter is a bit more on a 30,000 ft. level, as opposed to the practical AI tools and tips approach. Don’t worry, there’s more of that coming.

But I wanted to zoom out, here, and look at the landscape together. Do you see what’s happening? Can you see what’s coming?

If you can see it early, you can react to it early. You can prepare early. If you believe a new world is coming, then don’t just be a consumer of it. take massive action in these next 6-12 months and leverage it.

AI doesn’t have to end the world, or end your business. This could be the greatest growth opportunity of your lifetime. Let’s catch the wave.

As always…
Never Stop Learning.

Jeremy
