AI - Coming to a Search Engine Near You

AI is redefining the search experience in Google. As a business, here's why that matters.

Hey! It’s Jeremy.

Unpopular Opinion for this week ... If your business is paying a bunch of money for SEO right now, you should probably just light that money on fire 🔥.

I’ve been testing out a different kind of Google Search these past few weeks. It’s going to completely change business online.

If your business depends on being seen online for any kind of growth, branding or customer acquisition, this one’s for you.

💼 Business Application: Search Engine Optimization (SEO)

➡️ AI TOOL: Google AI Search
➡️ USE CASE: Ranking Your Business in Google

Want to enable this tool early?

Here’s how to turn on Google’s AI Search right now, so you can see how it works ahead of time.

This week’s newsletter is brought to you by one of the largest AI-driven newsletters in the world - The Rundown AI.

1️⃣ - Ranking number 1 is overrated.

The top organic (unpaid) spot has gotten less valuable over time.

Even if you're killing it at the top, you currently rank under all ads, featured snippets, recommended responses and the 3-pack results (the map).

You're not at the top, especially on mobile. Especially with the new design that’s coming with Generative Search…

2️⃣ - AI is changing everything, including Google.

Generative AI is coming to Google Search - it's actually already available and being rolled out.

It's called "Google Search Generative Experience (SGE) conversational chat" and you'll be seeing it in your browser soon.

This pushes your organic results even further down and will bring a whole new set of rules for SEO experts. This design was just featured a few weeks ago, and gives us a peek into what search will look like:

If you thought ranking first was hard, wait until your competition is all going after the generative results.

3️⃣ - Google will continue to prioritize making money.

Google Ads still get prioritized in AI generative results (see screenshot above). This is brand new information - it's going to make advertisers happy and upset those wanting more organic traffic.

Did you know Google makes 80% of its revenue from ads? $160 billion last year.

They're going to continue to prioritize rankings that pay them money over those that don't. That's just part of the game.

Even after AI takes over search.

✅ How I Can Help.

Whenever you’re ready, here are 3 ways for us to work together:

  1. Promote your business to 300+ business leaders and entrepreneurs by sponsoring this newsletter.

  2. Schedule a 1:1 coaching call with me on AI integration into your business.

  3. Apply to work with me here.

So what is the takeaway here?

Yes, SEO still has its place. I think that "place" will be less important in the coming months and years.

If you're going to spend money on showing up in Google and getting traffic, put that money into a backlink strategy and ads.

Find someone who knows what they're doing and test it out.

As always…
Never Stop Learning.
